The use of a photo box for employee photos
The staff in your company have the opportunity to photograph and/or update their own employee photo at a fixed or regularly changing location (e.g. in the casino or the company canteen or HR department).
It is important that this is achieved in the form of a self-service process and that you do not need extra personnel on site.
You give your staff the opportunity to fully identify themselves around the clock with their individual employee photo.
The personal photos can be automatically adapted to the appropriate format, removed from disturbing elements in the background and optionally saved in various dimensions and aspect ratios.
One possible solution
You position a photo box optimized for employee photos in your company (e.g. in the Katine, at the ID or at the entrance in a relaxed corner.
The space requirement is approx. 1.5m x 1m.
There, the employees will sit in front of the photo box, just like with a passport photo machine, and see the instructions for the necessary actions on the display.
The screen serves as a touch screen at the same time as an input terminal for the necessary data, e.g. B. Employee ID, first name, last name and/or date of birth.
Alternatively, the photo box can also be set up so that the data can be read directly from the employee ID card. The information recorded in this way then becomes part of the file name of the employee photo taken.
Optionally, a disclaimer screen can also be displayed with a confirmation option for internal / external use of the photo.
After the employee photo has been taken, the background of the photo can be automatically replaced with one or various backgrounds specified by you. The head is also determined for each photo, adjusted to a specified size and positioned in a specified position on the final image.
The recording is saved in a size and aspect ratio specified by you (eg square for Active Directory). A comparison is made between the saved portrait and the in-house employee data record via the name of the picture. We would be happy to help your IT department specify the import interface.
A biometric check and a cut to a biometric ID photo are available as an extra expansion stage.
The image output can happen in parallel in some forms.
So you always have the right photo for

Logically, each file can also be “personalized” with company logos and/or the employee's name and position will be immediately visible on the image.

How does the employee get the picture?
So that the CRM system or the Active Directory are not the only ones to benefit from the new photos, there are three different ways for the workforce to choose from to also receive their picture digitally.
- Download via QR code from an offline gallery
The photobooth provides its own WLAN that the workforce has to dial into.
At the end of the recording, a QR code will appear on the screen. This QR code leads to an offline gallery from which employees can download their photos. In contrast to the online gallery, this way only works in the immediate vicinity of the photo box. - Download from an online gallery
At the end of the recording, a code is displayed or printed on the touchscreen, which the staff can use to download their original photo and the various sizes for the various target systems. - Enter the e-mail address at the end of the photo sequence.
Then the captured photo is immediately sent to the employee's email address.
Other deployment options
In order to make the best possible use of the acquisition, you have the following options:
- Photo attraction at customer events & meetings
- Pictures of groups of visitors, e.g. after a lecture
- Use at trade fairs to create personalized “flyers”
- Employee photos (as explained above)
- Recording of biometric passport photos and ID photos
The need for investment
The price for the purchase of a photo box perfected in this way starts at around €4,400 plus VAT and pays off for companies with around 100 or more employees.
Of course, there is also the chance to try out the system in advance on a rental basis for € 650 + € 1 / employee photo plus VAT per week.
1/2 of the rent will be credited to the subsequent purchase if the system is purchased immediately.
Customer ratings
Since the implementation of the system in 2019, two photo boxes have been permanently installed in this country and in Zurich.
